ONE-STEP BUTTONHOLING

Always make a practice buttonhole on a sample of your fabric.

Be sure bobbin contains enough thread.

When making buttonholes on hard-to-reach areas, convert machine bed

to free arm sewing.

Make buttonhole position on fabric as indicated in pattern.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Stitch Selection: Buttonhole Stitch

Foot: Buttonhole Attachment

• Center pin in attachment under

shank, and lower presser foot liter.

• Press presser foot screw down

firmly until shank snaps into place.

• Place button on the carrier.

• Slide clamp (1) back to hold

button.

• Draw both threads between upper

(2) and lower (3) plates to the

back.

Place fabric between the plates.

Center 3 red guidelines (4) around

beginning line of buttonhole.

• Pull buttonholes lever (5) down and

press it toward you.

• The entire buttonhole will be

stitched in one operation.

• Stop sewing when leg begins

overlapping bartack.

• Cut buttonhole opening.

ADJUSTING BALANCE OF

BUTTONHOLE

• If two stitching sides of buttonhole

are unequal, move stitch balance

lever to adjust.

- If right side is too open, move

stitch balance lever slightly to right.

- If left side is too open, move stitch

balance lever slightly to left.
